Great book, you won't be dissapointed. This is one on many great books I have read that were recommended by Dave. Probably the best one. I couldn't put it down.

The book "Linchpin" by Seth Godin tells me what I could be rather than what I settle for. I have, in my own, conservative fashion, already begun the transition to becoming a "linchpin" and like the results. I feel good, and it has been a long time since I could say that. My next mission is to read the book again ! and perhaps try "Tribes" !

Linchpin* is the most relevant book I've ever read. I teach 8th grade English and the first three chapters of Linchpin re-shaped my entire philosophy of education. Godin explains (in detail) how schools have evolved into their current state and it's somewhat depressing. I've been teaching for several years, and I've realized I've not provided the growth opportunities my students need in order to be successful in today's (and more importantly tomorrow's) workplace. Our society and culture has changed, yet our schools haven't. As an educator, I have to push through the resistance (Chapter 4) and the tips Godin gives are right on. Linchpin helped me put the "Arts" back in "Language Arts." Because of this book, I am a different teacher and am working to make myself indispensable.
*As an English teacher, I must point out that Linchpin should be italicized, but that isn't an option, so please forgive me.
