It has been said before, I know, but Financial Peace University has changed our lives! Starting the program has obviously not increased our income, but it has helped us do things with the money we make that we never thought possible. I would NEVER have believed we could eliminate almost $4000 worth of debt in 5 weeks! For once in our lives, we look forward to payday not because we NEED the money, but because we are excited to see what we will be able to do with it for the next 2 weeks!

I gave this as a gift to my son and his girlfriend as they are preparing for a life together. When my daughter and son-in-law were first married my husband and I were able to take them to a "live event" at Belmont University in Nashville. That experience allowed them to be in good financial shape when their first child was born 18 months ago. They had no reason to expect a baby with a genetic disorder but that is what the Lord had planned for them. Oh what a blessing she is! Because of their financial planning they have not had the burdens they might have had if debt had ruled their lives. They do both work but my daughter is able to work part-time allowing her two days each week to take our granddaughter to therapy. We consider what they learned about controlling their financial lives as a blessing that has allowed them peace in an otherwise stressful year. We are hoping our son and future wife will also find blessings through learning and practicing good stewardship.

FPU Online course was the solution for my wife and I attending the course. With 5 kids, a busy job and schedules going in every direction, this was the best way to learn at our own pace.
The material is affordable, easy to use and comes in several formats so you can read, work online, or listen on the commute.
We love it and being able to have a lifetime membership is the ace in the hole!

My wife and I love the FPU Online Combo! Three years ago our friends and family went through FPU and bragged on it. We read the book and listened to the CD's and did very well paying off debt, using a budget, and talking about our finances, but we never quite finished our journey. Our parents offered to pay for us to do FPU after they finished and we took them up on their offer. Now we are REALLY gazelle intense. We are knocking out debt and are re-invigorated to live like no one else, so we can LIVE LIKE NO ONE ELSE!

This plan is incredible! i have been challenged on so many levels, not just financially but more so how i think in general about making decisions. For the price i paid to purchase this kit (about $150 dollars) i have already put aside $1,000 dollars that was slipping out of my hands every month. Finance is really 20% head knowledge and 80% behavior. None of what Dave says is new he just puts it in practical, charismatic, funny, and real terms. This is an excellent purchase!!

I am on week three of the course and already I feel so much better and more hopeful about life. For the first time in my life I am sticking to a budget. My husband and I are enjoying making cuts so that we can get totally out of debt. We are realizing just how fortunate and blessed we are to have God's resources entrusted to us. This series has given us an entirely new perspective. This has also given me a new hope. I was to a point of total distress. Our debt came as a surprise to us - a tax debt we didn't understand. We have worked very hard to not have debt - no car payments, no house payment, no credit card payments, etc. So, it was very disheartening to find ourselves in debt. God is helping us. Thank you, Dave Ramsey, for this wonderful work of hope and peace.

My wife and I have been watching the videos intensely. The very first class caused the best conversation/fight. After that we had to ask if every week we were going to be scheduling a fight every week. It has forced us to talk about issues we didn't know we had. We talked about fears and dreams but we were able to make plan that dealt with both. I would and have recommended this program to everyone who I think would be willing to do it.

I have implimented all of of Dave ramseys ideas and will be debt free including house in 36 months, I have shared the strategies with my kids and set up a meeting with our financial planner to engage early savings. I am glad that Dave Ramsey and the group engages a love for the Savior and as a small boy I have always been a strong believer in his saving grace and have resolved to share his love forever. True happiness is measured by how we love our family (foremost the Savior). and to be happy!! As a family we are grateful for the financial guidance to help our family.

Financial Peace University in person just wasn't an option for our schedules. Our family chose to do the online combination. We are so glad we did! We can take our class with us wherever work takes us. Whenever we visit family, we can attend classes with them. It has been fun to talk about what we are learning about separately and to be on the same page, hundreds of miles apart.
For people that are on the fence about whether or not they should take FPU, I say GO FOR IT! Not only have we learned about ourselves as individuals, we have learned about being a solid couple. Having seamless communication about money is such a blessing and takes the stress out of life.

I appreciate the option of using online resources while waiting for the local class to start. There is no delay in getting the information and starting to put it into action. Sometimes there were issues with the videos but I was able to go back into them and 'resume', not sure if this was a personal internet issue or an issue with the website/server.

We are so pleased to be taking the online FPU course. There is no way we could attend a class together any other way because of my husband's work schedule. This has given us the chance to spend the time together, at our own pace, to learn and apply Dave's teachings. It is giving us hope that someday we will be able to pay back our school debt...hopefully sooner rather than later!

FPU Online has been life changing. I chose the online class due to time constraints. I was already working two jobs and did not have much disposable time to invest in anything else, but I knew how much I needed to change my approach to money.
There were a number of things that lead to my money management problem. I had never had great money management skills but I had been through a messy divorce, which was the beginning of a very slippery slope. I always thought more about everyone else rather than taking care of myself first. I built a house, which financially seemed very doable at the beginning of the project. I signed the final papers on the house just as the collapse in the houseing market hit the news. This was followed by incredible job stress as the economy seemed to be inploding. Then I went to the doctor for some routine tests. One being a colonoscopy. I had never had any sort of symptoms but when the doctor came in after the proceedure he said you are going to need a re-section on your colon. That was not on my list of things to do. During the surgery the doctors found a huge cyst on my ovary the size of an orange which was removed. Then there was the recovery time followed by the medical bills. I was lucky because everything was benign. Even with good health insurance these can be substantial. I also have a chronic medical condition that requires perscriptions, and regular doctors visits. This was all followed by the usual emergencies car repairs, vet bills, and household emergencies. I had to do the usual car maintence brakes, tires and oil changes. One day on the way into work the rubber unwound from an 18 wheeler tire and ended up under my car doing substantial damage. I drive a small car. My water well got hit by lightening and everything in the well and water filtering system had to be replaced. Then I got a summons on one of the credit cards I owed on. So at this point I felt like I was fighting a grizzly bear with a bag of miniutre marshmellows. That is when I enrolled in FPU Online.
I have a long drive to my office so I used that time to listen to the CD's. from the Online course. I did skip ahead to the disk on Credit Sharks in Suits because I really needed to hear what was on that disk. I had gotten through making my quickie budget when I started really being threatened by the law firm. I found one of the Dave Ramsey certified coaches in my area and went to see him. That was great because he looked at my budget. We talked about the changes I had already made. He made additional recommendations. Also since I am single I had someone to discuss the process with. The Dave Ramsey Coach made me feel hopeful, that I had taken some of the right steps, but he didn't candy coat thing either. I finally feel that I am going to get all this mess cleared up. I have my baby emergency fund in place. I got the first credit card in my debt snowball paid off, so I am on my way.
Will it be easy ... probably not but I am committed to change. The very best thing that has come from this is that I finally felt able to talk to my friends and family about what was going on rather than continue on carrying all this as an awful secret. I am so fortunate because instead of making me feel worse by telling me what a bad person (the way I felt). They have shown me nothing but love and compassion.

We talked about taking FPU through our church for over two years. But with our ever changing work schedule, we knew that we would miss a lot over the 16 weeks. Finding the FPU Online Course works great for our family. We are more than half way through and wish we had found the online course two years ago. I highly recommend the easy to follow videos and course work. Our only regret was not buying the DVD's so that we could watch them again if needed in the future. 6 weeks in, we are on baby step number two, we no longer have cable, but we paid off the car today! We are gazelles!!!
