Teaching Responsibility
Date:March 6, 2012
I am a single mother and am employed in the field of Accounting/Finance. Teaching my daughter how to manage her money responsibly is extremely important to me. However, teaching children about money can be very challenging and time consuming.
Financial Peace Jr. has been a life saver! My daughter is very excited about the program. She completes all her chores in a timely manner and even sings, most of the time, while she's doing them. The chore chart stays on our refrigerator and she cannot wait to check off each completed chore...she often asks to do more. Also, she has become quite the giver and I couldn't be more proud about that!
Financial Peace Jr. has made her aware of the fact that when she and I work as a team our home operates more smoothly. We now both "enjoy" having dinner together each night. Before, I was doing most of the chores and wasn't nearly as cheerful afterwards.
I would like to note this program is a "process" and not a "quick fix." But if you are consistent and stick with it you will be amazed by the outcome!!
I would most certainly recommend this program and in the future I will purchase it as a gift.

Financial Peace Junior
Date:May 15, 2013
After attending a Financial Peace course of my own, along with my adult daughter, I decided that it would be (as Dave says) a great idea to get the next generation in as well, essentially covering 3 generations with Financial Peace. I ordered the deluxe Junior for my granddaughter who is 9 and we set a date every Thursday to listen to a book, follow along with the hard copy, and do some work in her workbook. She took her chore chart home along with a few other items like her banks, and her 3-year-old sister wanted to do the banks and chore chart as well. I was shocked. A 3-year-old that wanted to participate! I ordered her kit immediately and she was as excited a child getting a new pony at Christmas. When her older sister won't do her chores from the chart, she happily tells her mother, "I'll do it, Mommy, I want some money!" and she runs off to do the chore so that she can earn her commissions. What a blessing to 3 generations Financial Peace has been. Thank you!

My husband and I have been taking the FPU @ home course after going through a very difficult financial crisis. We thought it would be great for our kids (ages 7 and 11) to go through their own courses too. The kids have really found power in controlling their own money. Their original plan was to find different charities to donate to but they both found one that they love and donate their money together. They wrote a letter explaining how they are giving their money to this particular charity and were so happy to have found them. The kids received back a package with even more information about the charity and a hand written note from the person in charge thanking them for their committment and their generosity. That really helped them feel even more connected. There is no longer begging and pleading at stores because they know they must use their own money. The one thing we implemented differently was that the 'savings' envelope was strictly for saving- college/car. After $5 is saved we take them down to the bank and they deposit it into their own savings accounts. Spending money can be spent on almost anything (within reason) but if one of them wants to buy a toy that is $40 they need to save their spending money for that toy. They can decide if they want to spend it on something else but it doesn't always have to be spent. What we have found through the lessons is that there is very little bickering about chores that need to be done and everyone is more helpful around the house. Friday/Pay Day is a big deal at our house and I'm proud of the kids for what they have learned and how they have come to realize that how they spend their money really matters.

My 6 year old grandson is just so excited using the Jr kit. It will be great direction getting him started in learning and having money. He likes being able to set aside money to give and think about ways of giving. He is in charge and taking ownership, so we are very pleased it is easy to use and comprehend for him. His 3 year old sister is anxious to start also.

Just what he wanted
Date:January 25, 2013
My nephew wanted his own commisions list after seeing my list for the boys. For Christmas, I bought him his own FP Jr and gave his mom the TMMO. When I went by there last night, he was loading the dishwasher while his mom was on the couch with a headache. That is the way families should work, take care of the house together. He has a goal for saving, and is thrilled to have a way to earn money each week for that goal while helping his mom.
We weren't taught how to handle money as kids, so I'm hoping that Dave Ramsey will help us teach our kids.

I bought this game with the hope that it will help teach my kids how to handle money better than my husband and I. That's not something our parents ever showed us and it shows now that we are trying to do the total money make over. My kids are still very young (6 and 2) and they learn very well though games. They have a lot of fun playing this one and I hope that they are learning a lot in the process.

Got Financial Peace Jr. for the five grandkids, ages 2-11, a few months ago and they love it!
It makes them feel grown-up handling their own money (with a little supervision). Now when they get money for doing chores or their birthdays they run for the envelopes to separate it right away! They've been so excited to put their "own" money in the collection plate at church and put a lot of thought into what they will save up to buy.
What a great teaching tool!

This is the best gift I have given to my myself and my children. My kids want to do their chores and I enjoy watching them learn to work for money. They have already made goals for their first purchase. Thanks sooooo much Dave for what you teach. We are debt free and teaching our children how to be debt free.

Our family loves Junior. We have read all the books. The kit has helped us explain with Junior's help, how commissions work and they are doing their chores and commissions more independently then before. They have learned the concept to make their money work for them rather they work for their money. This has been a heaven sent for our family.

We have four children between the ages of 2 and 8. We bought this FPU Jr so our kids wouldn't have to make the same mistakes we did. OR they could make them earlier when they are still at home and we can help them.
So far, the kids have enjoyed earning their commissions, and they are excited about all the people/charities/church service projects that they can help support with their "giving" money.
Thanks Dave!! We wouldn't be able to change our family tree without this program!!

We ordered this because our 7 year old is stuff crazy and seemed to think we could just get whatever we want whenever we want. This is a great tool for teaching how to handle money and learning that he has to save for things. I have never seen him so eager to do chores! Had a small issue with the chore chart. The marker holder had come off in shipping and my son damaged it when he tried to "fix" it. I called customer service and they sent a new one right away at no charge. Thanks for such great customer service!

I purchased two Financial Peace Juniors for my 8 & 9 year old grandchildren who live in Texas. I can't wait to hear how they like it. I've been trying to get their father 'on-board' but he has plenty of excuses - no time is his favorite one. SOOOO, there is more than one way to 'skin a cat'. I'll get the KIDS 'on-board' and surely dad will follow!
